Challenge
Japan is a trading hub for Naphtha in the Far East - Far East Open Spec Naphtha is traded in large volumes. With the advent of online trading solutions, it was only a matter of time before someone decided to take Naphtha trading online.
In this case 6 of the leading traders of Far East Open Spec Naphtha in Japan (contributing to 60% of the trades) have joined hands to form a Joint Venture to setup an online exchange for trading Open Spec Naphtha and MOPJ (Paper swaps).
Solution
After a detailed review and analysis of various trading solutions available in the market, the Joint Venture selected Calsoft to implement the solution for them. Calsoft's experience in building Energy trading solutions and faster development times coupled with our experience in executing Global eBusiness Solutions were the key factors in the decision making process.
The trading exchange solution will provide the traders a much faster and efficient means of trading Open Spec Naphtha and MOPJ. The solution will allow traders to place bids and offers that are automatically matched by the system or the traders can conduct realtime negotiations with other traders to fix deals. The site will offer advanced features to manage trader portfolios, realtime matching and negotiation.
The solution is designed to provide a highly secure environment that can protect the time-sensitive trading data associated with the site. Calsoft is currently in the process of developing this solution in Internet time.
Technology
The solution is designed on Microsoft DNA. Uses tools and technologies like MTS, COM, ASP, VB, MS SQL, MSCS, SSL, Secure ID/Smart Cards, etc. The solution is designed to be hosted in a secure data center as a Web Farm with Load Balancing and Clustering to provide maximum availability and redundancy.
