For a well-known auto component manufacturer invited Calsoft to simplify its sales and distribution through Microsoft Dynamics NAV

Jonas Woodhead & Sons (India) Ltd., is an ISO 9002 & QS 9000 certified company established in 1963. It is in the business of manufacturing Leaf Springs and Assemblies for Heavy/Light Commercial Vehicles, Trucks, Trailers, Jeeps and Cars.

The Head Office and Manufacturing facility is in Chennai, India and has Sales & Distribution Operations across India.

Challenges

Jonas was using a in-house developed FoxPro software to manage its back office operations. This software had the following limitations. They are:

  • No GUI
  • Lack of Integration between various operations
  • Obsolete Technology
  • Lack of Web Interface for remote user access

Jonas was looking for an integrated business solution that would automate its sales and distribution operations across the Head Office, the Manufacturing Facility and the Sales & Distribution offices.

The ease of use of Navision has helped the users in the company to do the transactions easily. The employees were able to quickly and easily click their way to get the details on the inventory levels, to sales orders, to receivables, all in one single secure database.

Information entered into the database in one application area is immediately and transparently available for use in other application areas, so business processes are optimized and the corporate knowledge is leveraged across the entire spectrum of users.

The solution configured by Calsoft gives complete, accurate and up to-date information and helps Jonas to focus on the preferred customer segments and respond to such customers much better. Good sales and marketing practices are established by making the right decisions at the right time, and better business decisions are made by staying focused and in control of all the marketing and sales efforts. These factors have improved the Customer Relationship, which has had a positive impact on company revenues.

Also, the training program designed and delivered by Calsoft to the end users as well as the power users have made the users of Navision better equipped for day to day situations. Today, as a power user, the IT Manager at Jonas is able to customize reports on his own and does not need to depend on Calsoft for operational support.
